New things for a new year!

Yesterday I spent more money in 24 hours than I have in the previous month. Seriously. I made several purchases that were long overdue, the most expensive–and most exciting–one being this:

Say hello to my new Ford C-Max SE Hybrid! It’s a crossover blend between a car and an SUV and is, in all honesty, really fun to drive. Plus, it has all these bells and whistles my last car couldn’t have EVER dreamed up. Color changing ambient lighting in the cup holders? Is that really necessary? Hell, no. But the inside of my car glows BLUE, so I really don’t care. πŸ˜€

My previous car was ten years old and falling apart, but that’s not the only reason I wanted to get rid of it. It was also one of the last reminders of what’s basically a previous life. I can promise you I shed no tears leaving the keys to that thing on the dealer’s desk.

Other smaller, but also notable purchases? I picked up the new writing-focused business cards I ordered. Just in time for the conference I’ll be attending in January! I also bought a branded wallet and purse for the first time in my life. And the brands actually match! I’ve always been a fan of Fossil, so I now own a Fossil wallet, to replace the old one that literally falling apart at the seams, as well as a Fossil purse… also to replace the old one falling apart at the seams.

Are we noticing a trend yet? It could be argued a couple of different ways (I don’t know how to let go of things, etc.) but in all honesty, I hate shopping. And don’t like spending money needlessly either. I tend to wear things out until I absolutely HAVE TO go get a new one. Luckily my spree of new things happened just before the new year! It feels nice to know I’ll be starting 2013–which I expect will be astonishingly amazing in SO MANY WAYS–with a new, fresh start.

My next post probably won’t be until midnight on New Years Eve, so I’ll say so long for now and hope to see you in the new year!

Thanks for everything, 2012. You’ve been fantastic!
